Secret Garden of Canterbury

DSCN8117

Having been here in Canterbury for almost 2 years now, but not that often been to all the gardens of Canterbury.

Well, since Kent has its name, Garden of England, and its true. I have to say, this garden is really a secret garden, not much people came across with it, or even knew about it, including those who have been staying in Canterbury ever since.

There is only one way in, and other gates are locked.. The passage towards the garden does not really looks like its leading you to a whole new place, but just rather a small garage door with dirty dustbins around, broken windows of an abandoned building right beside the entrance, but after the gates, walking pass the small bridge, there came a small little unnoticed sign, Greyfriars Garden. But known to much people as the "Secret Garden"...

Located at a small island, between the pathway of River Stour in Canterbury, it doesn't even appears in the normal map of Canterbury, nor it has its name on the map, maybe because the island is too small to be noticed, or its just secret.

Secret came with its beauty as well.. Being an island, having the clean and clear River Stour flowing, its just nice and warm place for us to go during Spring or Summer.

There is also a quiet chapel, still had its original building design, survived through World War's bombing, or the age of time. Many does not know as well, this chapel is previously used as a prison, where prison spent his/hers locked days looking out of the window into the stream, but couldn't go out for a walk.
